Zazu Ibiza

Playa d'en Bossa is the island's longest continuous sand beach and its loudest, a flat two-kilometre strip of fine sand and shallow water running south from Ibiza Town past the big club hotels. Zazu occupies a plot in the middle of it and is built for the full arc of the day rather than one sitting. Mornings and afternoons are beach service: Balinese beds and hammocks on the sand, drinks brought out, the sea a few steps away. From evening the venue turns into a restaurant and show space, with indoor and outdoor dining rooms, a stage programme of dancers and live performance, and DJs carrying it through. The kitchen is international with a strong raw-fish and sushi element, and the wine list is built around Spanish and Balearic bottles before widening into French, Italian and New World labels. Cocktails use local ingredients. What separates it from most Bossa beach venues is how late it goes: the doors stay open until two in the morning midweek and until six on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, with the kitchen serving past midnight, so it functions as a pre-club dinner, a club night and an after-hours room depending on when you arrive. Private hire runs from ten guests to four hundred and fifty.
