Mario Plage

Mario Plage is the beach restaurant attached to the three-star Hotel La Plage, at the western end of Plage de la Nartelle where the beach begins, with a view straight down the gulf to the entrance and Saint-Tropez beyond. It has been run under the same name for well over fifteen years. Mattresses are laid out in lines on the sand in front of the terrace, and the club is one of the few in Sainte-Maxime that publishes its rates: the front line costs more than the rows behind. The kitchen is Mediterranean with a grill and rotisserie at its centre, working meat and same-day fish, and the bar mixes cocktails through the afternoon. Massages are available on the beach. In summer the programme adds themed evenings and live concerts. The season runs from early April to early October, with continuous service from midday until late.
