Lido Windsurf

Alcamo Marina stretches for around seven kilometres of fine golden sand along the Gulf of Castellammare, and most of it is free beach; Lido Windsurf occupies one of the serviced stretches in the Aleccia zone. The sand is soft and the water shelves out gently and shallowly, which is what draws Palermo and Trapani families here rather than the more dramatic rocky coves further west. The lido is refreshingly straightforward about what it charges. Pitches run from the front row back to the fifth, prices step up across four dated bands through the summer, and everything is printed rather than quoted on request. A pitch admits three adults, or two adults plus two children, and an extra lounger is a fixed five or six euros. Half-day slots exist on weekdays, morning or afternoon, though they are pulled entirely for the peak fortnight in August. Season passes and progressive discounts for stays of three days or more are also listed. Loungers come with cotton-covered foam mattresses; umbrella rental includes use of the automatic showers and toilets. There are changing cabins, free wifi, card payments, a bar and a restaurant, with service brought to both the umbrella and the table. The stretch is accessible for guests with disabilities.
