Playa de l'Olla is a beach of more than a kilometre north of Altea town, mixing sand, pebbles and rock, with views south to the Serra Gelada and north towards the Penon de Ifach. El Cranc sits right on the water at the centre of this stretch, in a low building surrounded by palms. The restaurant has been run continuously since 1982 and is one of the longest established beachfront addresses in Altea. Service is a full sit down restaurant with a Mediterranean menu rather than a beach bar counter. Parking in the immediate area is limited, and the venue takes reservations through its own site. No sunbed or bed rental is advertised.
