Bijeca Beach

Medulin lies at the southern tip of Istria, on a wide shallow bay that faces the Premantura peninsula. Bijeca runs along the northern edge of that bay and is unusual on this coast for being real sand rather than pebble. The gradient is so gentle that children can walk out a considerable distance, and there is an aquagun water play installation in the shallows. Restaurants and cafes line the promenade behind the beach and sunbeds and parasols can be rented on the sand. A separate beach bar operates at the eastern end near the campsite. The wider Medulin area also has the Belvedere pebble beach with showers, wifi, lifeguards and lounger rental, and the protected Kamenjak nature park begins a few kilometres to the south.
