Lido Ohana

Lido Ohana was set up on the Playa at Castellammare del Golfo with one stated aim: to remove every physical obstacle between a bather and the sea. Wide walkways run all the way to the waterline, decking links the different areas, Job chairs are kept on site for entering the water, and the toilets and showers are built to accommodate wheelchairs rather than merely admit them. Staff are trained to assist, and the water in front of the lido is monitored continuously. None of that comes at the expense of the ordinary things. There are more than sixty umbrellas, spaced generously enough that neighbours are not in your lap, plus cabins, hot showers, free wifi and easy parking. The bar handles breakfast, light lunches built on local ingredients and an evening aperitivo with cocktails and fresh snacks, taken with the full sweep of the gulf in front of you. The sand is soft and the shelving gentle. Canoes and SUP boards are for hire, and the club runs courses in stand-up paddle, windsurfing and surfing. Dogs are allowed.
