Mahi Plage

Mahi-Plage sits on Plage de la Nartelle at Sainte-Maxime, on the sheltered sand facing across the gulf towards Saint-Tropez, and it is unambiguously the family end of the local beach-club spectrum. Several things back that up rather than just the marketing: a fenced children's play area, children's menus that come with a small gift, and a proper indoor dining room with a fireplace, which means a booking survives a wet or windy day instead of being written off. Practical logistics are handled better than at most beaches here, with forty private parking spaces and a valet, showers and changing cabins, and a beach attendant working the loungers with drinks and service through the day. The kitchen's reputation rests on grilled fresh fish, tapas boards for sharing and a tarte tatin that regulars order without looking at the menu. The season is long by Riviera standards, running from the middle of March to the end of October with lunch and dinner service every day, and Thursday and Sunday evenings bring live music in summer. Larger events run late. Booking is required, and payment by cash, card, cheque and holiday vouchers is accepted.
