Balena Beach Club

Bagno Balena opened in 1874 and is one of the oldest lidos in Viareggio. The original structure was made entirely of wood, with a large arch over the main entrance, and the current building keeps a Liberty style character while housing modern facilities. The club has four pools including a hydromassage pool, a restaurant, a bar, changing cabins and both beach volleyball and tennis courts. It is roughly 1.5 km from the town centre and 1.3 km from the railway station. Dogs are allowed and the site is accessible. Beach service runs from 08:00 to 20:00 and the bar and restaurant from 10:00 to 20:00. No official rate card is published, so prices are quoted on request.
