Al Sabbione Beach Club

San Vito Lo Capo has one of the best beaches in Sicily, a wide bank of pale, almost powdery sand running to water that stays waist-deep an implausible distance out, with the limestone bulk of Monte Monaco standing over the far end. Al Sabbione holds a section of that seafront and its defining policy is space: umbrellas are set at least three metres apart, so the rows do not become a single continuous canopy and you get a usable pocket of your own. Setups come with loungers, deck chairs or director's chairs, and cabins can be rented for storage. The service model is Italian family-resort rather than minimalist beach club, with beach attendants on duty through opening hours, a Baby Club and an animation programme for adults, a free children's play area and bookable parking, which matters in a town where August parking is a blood sport. Food arrives at the umbrella and covers the whole day: brioche, cappuccino and fresh juice in the morning, then arancini, pizza, salads, panini and pane cunzato made the traditional way at lunch, gelato and frozen yogurt in the afternoon, and a cocktail bar mixing both classics and its own creations. The season runs June to the end of September.
