Yolo Plage

Yolo is a small private beach on the Juan-les-Pins seafront, at the western end of the bay, and its defining feature is a wooden pontoon that runs out over the water. Loungers on the sand get you the usual Riviera arrangement, parasol, service, easy access to shallow calm water. The pontoon mattresses get you something better: nobody walking past your head, a breeze off the bay, and an unobstructed line of sight west towards the Iles de Lerins and the red rock of the Esterel, which is where the sun goes down. It is a genuinely good sunset position and the beach team know it. The restaurant sits behind a shaded terrace and serves through the day from April to October, lunch and dinner, with a Mediterranean menu and a cocktail bar, and there is wifi if you cannot fully switch off. The beach section runs from ten in the morning to six in the evening. The scale is the appeal here: this is a compact, personally run operation rather than a branded club, so the staff notice when your glass is empty and the atmosphere stays relaxed even in high season.
