Cocoloco Beach

Lido Coco Loco holds a section of the long, largely undeveloped shoreline at Tre Fontane, on the south-western coast of Sicily in the province of Trapani. The beach here runs for roughly twelve kilometres and the sand is soft and golden, with a seabed that shelves so gradually that small children can wade a long way out, which is the single reason most families choose this coast over the busier resorts further east. The club keeps its umbrellas well spaced across a broad plot and pairs them with showers, changing rooms and accessible facilities, a beach volleyball area and wifi, and it is pet friendly, which is far from standard among Sicilian lidos. The kitchen operates as a full restaurant under the name Lo Stravizio, working both land and sea specialities from an a la carte menu with a wine list, and seating runs indoors and out so dinner can be taken on the sand after dark. Catering and private events are a significant part of the business, from birthdays and children's parties to corporate and cultural functions. The location is genuinely rural, reached by car, with none of the hotel wall that shadows most Sicilian beaches. Open daily from nine in the morning to nine at night.
