La Vela

La Vela is a comparatively recent arrival on the Promenade des Anglais, opened in 2020 at number 58, roughly midway along the bay. It is one of the larger private beaches in Nice, with around 220 loungers, and it has positioned itself explicitly as the family option on a seafront where most clubs chase an adult crowd. The shore is Nice galets, the same big smooth pebbles as its neighbours, so the club's decking and mattress platforms do more work than they would on sand, and the water is clear and deepens quickly a few metres out. The restaurant is Mediterranean, holds Maitre Restaurateur and Qualite Tourisme certification, and works a seafront terrace with a long lunch service and a second sitting in the evening. Step-free access and facilities for visitors with reduced mobility are provided. Because it sits in the middle of the Promenade, it is straightforward to reach on foot or by bus from most of the seafront hotels, but there is no dedicated car park. The club's website was not reachable at the time of writing, so confirm current rates and hours by phone.
