Sa Cala Beach Club

Sa Cala Beach Club sits on a pine shaded terrace above Cala Esmeralda, one of the quieter coves in the Cala d'Or area of southeast Mallorca. It is part of the Inturotel resort, an adults only property for guests aged sixteen and over, and that age rule applies to the club as well, so it is not an option for families with young children. Outside visitors are welcome without staying at the hotel, which is unusual in a region where many beach spots are hotel exclusive. The kitchen is straightforward Mediterranean, with salads, burgers, club sandwiches, garlic prawns and vegetarian options, and portion sizes are generous. Wines, cocktails and sangria are the focus at the bar, and the resort keeps a herb and citrus garden nearby. A DJ sunset session runs daily through the summer on the terrace overlooking the cove. Steps lead down to the bay so guests can swim between courses. Parking is available and the bay is walkable from the centre of Cala d'Or.
