Mandy Beach

Mandy Beach occupies the Mollarella beach just west of Licata, a curved bay on the Agrigento coast sheltered by the Mollarella headland and its watchtower. What sets it apart from most Sicilian lidos is sheer breadth of service: alongside umbrellas, deckchairs and shaded private bungalows, the site functions as bar, sandwich counter, pizzeria, restaurant, gelateria, bakery, smoothie and crepe bar, shop and tobacconist, with a panoramic terrace above it all, and it runs from breakfast right through to dinner. Practically, that means you can arrive at eight in the morning and have no reason to leave. The water sports offer is unusually serious for a stretch this size, covering waterskiing, jet skis, parasailing and towed banana and manta rides, plus boat excursions along the coast taking between six and ten people with a lunch option. On land there is a beach volleyball court, a children's play area, hot showers, a defibrillator on site, a baby changing table, wifi and gluten-free menu options. Evenings tilt towards events: birthdays, cocktail parties on the sand and live music. Cash and cards are both accepted. Booking is by phone.
