Le Galet

Le Galet is named after the thing everyone complains about in Nice, the pebble, and it sits at 3 Promenade des Anglais right where the Promenade meets the Quai des Etats-Unis, which makes it the closest private beach to the old town and the Cours Saleya. That location is the main reason to choose it: you can come off the market, swim, eat and be back among the old-town streets in minutes, without the walk or the tram ride the beaches further west require. The shore is coarse galets and the water off this end of the bay is clear and cold-fresh even in August. The club runs long hours, opening for breakfast and staying on until late evening year-round, and splits into several distinct areas so the lunch service and the lounge end do not compete.
