Chez Max Beach

Chez Max is on Plage de la Nartelle, the 800 metre run of fine sand east of Sainte-Maxime that carries most of the town's private beaches. It is one of the few here built around a pool as well as the sea: a turquoise basin set back from the water with planting around it and a lounge area, styled on the Italian riviera rather than the Saint-Tropez template. Sunbeds come in two grades, standard loungers and wider double beds meant to be shared, and the choice matters because the beach-side loungers do not include pool access. The pool is also adults only, so families should plan around that rather than assume. Beyond the pool the offer is the familiar Nartelle package of restaurant, bar and beach service on soft sand with shallow, sheltered water.
