Aurora Beach

Katoro is one of the two large resort zones north of Umag, built around hotels and an apartment village facing the sea. The Aurora bathing area is engineered rather than natural: a paved and rocky terrace with steps and ladders into the water rather than a shelving entry, which is the standard form along this part of the Istrian coast. Facilities on the beach include showers, changing booths and rental of lounge chairs and umbrellas, and equipment for water sports can also be hired there. A band of shade sits above the beach for anyone wanting to get out of the sun. Parking is available nearby. The neighbouring Katoro beach is divided into concrete, rocky and pebbly sections and has sports courts, showers, changing rooms and several bars and restaurants.
