Jockey Club Salinas

The Jockey Club has been on Ses Salines beach since the early 1990s and it has kept more chiringuito character than most of its neighbours. It sits mid-beach on the long sweep of fine white sand inside the Ses Salines nature reserve, with the salt pans behind and the water shelving gently and staying warm and clear. The day here starts genuinely early by Ibiza standards - the doors open at nine, which means breakfast on the sand before the beach fills, and it is one of the few places on this stretch where that is possible. Alongside the Mediterranean restaurant there is a fruit bar doing smoothies, juices and fresh fruit plates, a cocktail service that runs to the loungers, and a small clothing store. The crowd is broad: families and early swimmers in the morning, a louder and more mixed beach crowd through the afternoon, and dinner service running until midnight through the summer months. Kitchen hours stretch or contract with the season, closing an hour earlier in the shoulder months of May and October than in high summer. The club shuts for winter and reopens at the end of March.
