About this beach club
SAL is a beach restaurant on Praia do Carvalhal in the Comporta area, on the Alentejo coast south of Lisbon. It sits directly on the beach behind the dune line with an oceanfront terrace, and has been widely written up as one of the better known beachside restaurants in Portugal. Service runs every day from half past twelve to ten at night. Reservations are taken by phone or through the website, but not by email. The owners also run SAL Burger, a separate outlet on Avenida 18 de Dezembro in Carvalhal village, open evenings and closed on Wednesdays. The Comporta beaches are wide, open Atlantic sand backed by protected dune and pine landscape.
