Le Calette Beach Club

Le Calette is at Caldura, on the rocky headland just east of Cefalu, and rather than one beach it has four separate bathing areas strung along the bay. The Calette Reef Club is the main one, a teak solarium with king-size beds and its own Reef Bar. Caletta Selvaggia is a small cove reached down a rocky path lined with prickly pear, and Caletta Presidiana sits below a garden of old olive trees and is easier to get to. Calette Beach is the sandy option on the Cefalu seafront, served by a shuttle from June to September. Away from the water there is a heated pool with counter-current swimming and hydromassage beds, maximum depth 1.40 metres, plus a separate jacuzzi, ringed by palms and flowerbeds and glazed through to the gym. The pool bar runs from morning until late with light lunches and aperitivi. Views take in the Rocca di Cefalu on one side and the Aeolian Islands on a clear day. Non-residents can visit but numbers are limited and hotel guests get priority, so booking matters.
