The Banyan Tree hotel on Bluewaters Island has its own stretch of shoreline on the Arabian Gulf and opens it to day visitors through a published pass. The pricing model differs between weekdays and weekends, with the full amount redeemable against food and drinks from Monday to Friday and half redeemable at the weekend. The private beach runs about 500 metres and the credit is spent at the Alizee restaurant and pool and beach outlet. Children under four enter free with a paying adult and guests aged twelve and over are charged as adults. The setting is quieter than the party focused clubs on the same island and on the Palm, with the emphasis on pool and beach lounging rather than DJ programming. Alcohol is served in the licensed hotel outlets. Non hotel guests are the intended audience for the day pass. Bluewaters is connected to JBR by a footbridge, so it is reachable on foot from the JBR beach strip.
